Data Compliance Options

The National Wine School offers a flexible, tiered framework for data compliance designed to meet the needs of instructors, departments, and fully accredited institutions. Our platform supports everything from basic FERPA-conscious design to full enterprise-grade security and privacy controls.

All support plans include core data protections, including U.S.-based hosting and encryption in transit. As you move up through the tiers, additional safeguards are introduced, such as data sharing agreements, incident response protocols, and indemnity coverage. Our top-tier offering, the Enterprise Compliance Tier, includes full SOC 2 Type 2 compliance and customized support for institutional IT and legal requirements.

For institutions or instructors using our Zero Support tier, no student-identifiable information should be shared with the National Wine School. To remain FERPA-compliant in this model, instructors must use anonymized usernames and email addresses, avoid transmitting student grades or IDs, and manage all records internally. A full guide is available here: Zero Support Compliance Guide.

Formal Data Sharing Agreements (DSAs) are available upon request at the Silver Plan level and above. These agreements outline your institution’s control over data and our obligations for handling it securely.

To see a breakdown of which compliance features are included at each support level, refer to our tier comparison chart: Compliance by Support Tier.

If your institution requires full audit support, indemnity, or integration with your IT security infrastructure, please contact us to learn more about the Enterprise Compliance Tier.
