Our programming and certifications are designed specifically for North America, including the United States, Canada, and Mexico. However, we have students as far away as Hong Kong and Finland. Anyone can take the L1 program from any country. However, both the L2 and L3 sommelier courses require wine selections that may not be available in other countries.
Before registering for any course above the L1, you should verify with your local wine shop that they can access small producer wines from all the major wine regions. Please keep in mind we cannot offer support to international students with wine selections.
To verify you have enough access to enough wines to take our sommelier courses, ask your wine shop if they can acquire the following wines. If they can do so, they are probably a relevant resource for sommelier-level wines.
- Priorat from Spain
- Pinot Noir from Santa Barbara
- American-oak-aged Cabernet Sauvignon from Australia
- An American Chardonnay that was oak-aged but did not go through malolactic fermentation.
- A Red Bordeaux from Blaye
