The National Wine School (NWS) is committed to protecting the privacy and confidentiality of student education records in accordance with the Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act (FERPA), 20 U.S.C. § 1232g; 34 CFR Part 99.
While NWS does not operate as a Title IV–eligible institution and does not collect or store sensitive academic records such as Social Security numbers, transcripts, or financial aid data, it does maintain student profiles containing personally identifiable information (PII) such as names, email addresses, course enrollments, and certification status.
To ensure compliance with FERPA principles, the National Wine School maintains the following policies:
- Student data is collected solely for the purpose of educational delivery, certification, and support services
- Personally identifiable information is not disclosed to third parties without the explicit consent of the student, unless permitted by law
- Student records are stored in secure, access-controlled systems
- All instructors and administrative staff are trained to handle student data in accordance with privacy best practices
When the School partners with accredited universities, it adheres to the privacy policies and data-sharing agreements required by those institutions. NWS does not share, sell, or reuse student data for marketing purposes and limits internal access to data strictly on a need-to-know basis.
